What services does your company provide?

We solve information technology problems for our clients. That means we design and develop custom software, integrate off-the-shelf and in-house software packages, and advise our clients on information technology issues ranging from usability design to network security.

How are you different from all the other vendors out there?

For one, we're very proud of the fact that every project we've managed and implemented has come in on time and on budget, and with a high degree of customer satisfaction. Not most of them - all of them.

In addition, we have specific areas of expertise that aren't that easy to find, including Documentum, the Adobe Acrobat suite for PDF creation and management, structured content development and publishing, high-usability software design, and learning management. We also have significant depth in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, and hire only consultants that have multiple technical and business skills. Our consultants are all permanent, salaried employees; we are not a body shop or a broker that walks away once the consultant is placed in an assignment.

Do you do staff supplement or projects?

We do both staff supplement and project work, depending on what best meets our client's needs.

Do you have somebody with skill X available?

Since each of our consultants has multiple technical skills, the answer is usually "yes", especially in mainstream skills like Visual Basic, Microsoft's .NET platform, Oracle development, SQL Server, UNIX, ASP, C/C++, and Java. We're also very good at providing consultants who have multiple skills, even when those skills are not commonly found together.

There are some skills that we do not possess at the level we consider reasonable for expert consultants, including SAP, PeopleSoft, and SAS. We consider it our responsibility to give you an honest assessment of our capabilities so that you can decide whether or not we're the correct people to do the job.

For more details, please see our Skills and Example Projects List at the end of this document.

Who else have you worked for?

As a company, we've done significant work in the life sciences industry for AstraZeneca, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Johnson and Johnson, Wyeth, Shire, Daiichi, as well as several excellent smaller companies.

As individuals, we've worked with just about every pharmaceutical or biotech company in the region, including Merck, Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline, Schering-Plough, Cephalon, Procter and Gamble, and many others.

Outside of life sciences, we've worked with Asher's Chocolates, the American Institute for CPCU, Keystone Asset Management, De Lage Landen, and many other wonderful clients.

How old/big is your company?

Jacquette Consulting was established in June of 2000. As of early 2008 we have twenty-three employees and are growing steadily.

I'd love to talk to you further, but we have a preferred vendor list. Are you on it?

We have master agreements with several companies in the area, and we also have relationships with other firms that may be on your list. Also, we offer some technical capabilities that are hard to find, and most vendor lists permit exceptions for difficult-to-find skills.

Do I get to review resumes before you bring somebody in?

Absolutely. We are also happy to arrange interviews for our consultants with prospective clients. We consider it extremely important that you feel our consultant will be a good fit for your need.

What makes your consultants any better than anyone else's?

All of our consultants have at least a bachelor's degree in computer science or a similar technical field; we don't dress up people with marketing degrees and try to pass them off as software developers. Our average level of experience is twelve years in industry, and the vast majority of that experience is in the pharmaceutical industry, either directly or through other consulting/contracting arrangements. Each of our consultants has also received training on software usability, security, and software design. Lastly, each of our consultants possesses multiple technical skills, including experience in at least three programming languages and multiple operating systems. Because our consultants are all salaried employees, they have a long-term commitment to and from us to be successful, and they know that the quality of the work they do will either help them succeed again in the future if they do well or haunt them forever if they do a poor job.

What if you provide me with a consultant and I don't like him/her or he/she can't do the job?

If this happens, we'll see if we can resolve the issue with support from the home office; if we can't, we'll replace the consultant or refund your fees. We'd much rather leave you happy than unhappy.

Will you talk to me about a business or technical problem I'm trying to solve before I hire you?

Sure, we're happy to talk to you and explore possible solutions to your problem, even if the best solution doesn't involve using our services. Even if you don't have an immediate need and are just interested in scoping out possibilities, we'll be happy to meet with you.
